On April 1st the National Flood Insurance Program or NFIP implemented a number of important changes that are now affecting policy holders. This is a FEMA fact sheet on how the changes will affect flood insurance premiums. One of these changes is implementing a new procedure for properties newly mapped into the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) and existing Preferred Risk Policy Eligibility Extension (PRP EE), a cost-saving flood insurance coverage option for property owners whose buildings were newly mapped into an SFHA.
